Lordfall™ User Agreement (Terms of Service)
Last updated: October 10, 2026
1. Who we are and what this covers
Lordfall ("the Game") is a digital card game made by Cardboard Throne Games LLC, a Kansas limited liability company ("we", "us"), 8743 W 121st Terrace, Overland Park, KS 66213. This agreement covers your use of the Game, your Lordfall account, and anything you get in the Game (for example Gold, Dust, Diamonds, packs, cards, Lords, cosmetics, titles and crests). It covers online play, friends and chat, Ranked play, Draft, Sealed, Tournaments, events and the Mailbox.
By creating an account or playing the Game, you agree to this agreement and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Game.
The Game runs in your web browser at lordfall.com, which is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare. It was also once available on itch.io; it is no longer played there.
2. Who can play
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- If you're under 18 (or the age of adulthood where you live), a parent or guardian must agree to this agreement for you.
- You can't use the Game if the law where you live doesn't allow it.
3. Your account
- Anyone who is at least 13 can create a free account. At times, sign-ups may be invite-only: if so, you need an invite code to create an account. We may limit how many accounts can be created from one network and may refuse sign-ups that look automated.
- Without an account you can try the Game against the computer. Guest progress is saved only in your browser and can be lost. Online play needs an account.
- Give us a real email address that you can access. We use it to sign you in, to reset your password, and for important account messages.
- Keep your password private. You're responsible for everything that happens on your account. Tell us at support@lordfall.com if you think someone else has used it.
- One person per account, and accounts are personal. Don't share, sell, trade, give away or buy accounts. Don't make extra accounts to collect rewards, free entries or welcome gifts more than once, or to play against yourself.
- Your display name, emblem and title are visible to other players. Don't use names that are offensive or hateful, that impersonate someone else, or that include personal information. An automatic filter checks names, and we may change or remove a name that breaks this rule.
4. Gold, Dust, Diamonds, packs, cards and other in-game items
- In-game items include Gold, Dust, Diamonds, packs, cards, Lords, foils, card backs, alternate art, titles, crests, free Draft and Sealed entries, and anything else you earn or unlock in the Game.
- In-game items are not real money and have no cash value. You get a limited, personal licence to use them in the Game. You don't own them.
- Diamonds are a premium in-game currency. They can't currently be bought with real money. We will update this agreement before Diamonds or anything else goes on sale.
- You can't sell, trade or transfer in-game items or accounts outside the Game, or for anything of real-world value.
- We may change, rebalance, rename or remove cards, items, prices, rewards, drop rates and game rules at any time, for example in balance patches. When we remove a card we usually give back its Dust value, but we aren't required to. We'll try to be fair about changes, but we don't owe you anything for them.
- Packs and pull rates: what's in a pack is random. A pack has 5 cards: 2 Common, 2 Uncommon, and a fifth card that is a Rare (70%), a Legendary (25%) or a Lord (5%). In a set that has no Lords, the fifth card is a Rare (70%) or a Legendary (30%). Every card of a given rarity in a set is equally likely in a slot of that rarity, and every Lord in a set is equally likely when a Lord comes up. Each card also has a 2% chance of being a Foil (a cosmetic look only; it never changes what the card does).
- Guarantees ("pity"): your first pack of a set that has Lords always has a Lord in the fifth slot. After 9 packs in a row of the same set with no Legendary or Lord, the fifth card of your next pack of that set is a Legendary or better. After 19 packs in a row with no Lord, the next one is a Lord. These counters are kept per set and per account. Odds don't depend on what you own, and a duplicate can be turned into Dust.
- Draft and Sealed packs: these have 15 cards (6 Common, 6 Uncommon, and 3 that are each a Rare (70%) or a Legendary (30%)) and come from the set currently in rotation, which changes about every two weeks. Their cards are not Foil.
- Where to see the odds: the exact, current odds and card counts for each set are in the Game, under the "?" button on each pack in the Shop. If we change the odds, we change that page first and update this agreement.
- If items are added to your account by mistake (a bug, or a reward sent in error), we may correct it.
- Real-money purchases don't exist yet. Before we add them, we will update this agreement with pricing, refund, payment and tax terms.
5. Ranked play, Draft, Sealed, Tournaments, events and rewards
- Ranked seasons, leaderboards, Draft, Sealed, Tournaments, the Weekend Ladder and other events each have their own rules (entry cost, scoring, prizes), which we show in the Game. If those rules conflict with this agreement for a game or event, the event's rules apply.
- Entry costs. Some modes cost Gold to enter (for example Draft, Sealed and Tournaments). Free entries, where we give them, are used before Gold. If you leave a Tournament before it starts you get your entry back; otherwise entry costs are not refunded, including when a game ends because you disconnected, timed out or gave up.
- Computer players ("bots"). To keep queues moving, we may match you with a computer-controlled player if no human is found after a short wait. Bots are marked in the Game. Games against bots can count for your rank and rewards as the Game shows, but bots themselves never win prizes, and bot-only Tournament brackets pay smaller prizes.
- Time limits and leaving. Online games have turn timers. Losing on time, giving up, or being disconnected for about a minute counts as a loss. Closing the game or switching apps on a phone for too long during an online game can lose it.
- Game checks. To keep games fair, we record the moves made in Ranked games and may check them against the rules on our servers. Games that fail a check may be refused or flagged for review.
- Rewards (Gold, packs, Dust, Diamonds, cosmetics, titles, crests and so on) are in-game items under section 4. We send many rewards to your Mailbox for you to claim.
- We may refuse or take back rewards, reset ranks, or remove players from leaderboards or events if we believe they cheated, colluded, traded wins, used more than one account, or otherwise broke these rules.
6. Friends, chat and watching
- You can add friends, challenge them, and send them text messages in the Game. Messages are limited in how many you can send, and a filter hides some bad words. Only accepted friends can message you.
- If you turn on "Let friends watch my games", accepted friends can watch your online games after a short delay. They can't see your hand or your deck, and they can't play. You can turn this off at any time, and a game can be watched only if both players allow it.
- You can report a player or a message from the Game. We may read chat messages and game records when we look into a report, a safety concern or cheating.
- You can use emotes during online games. You can mute emotes and chat.
7. Playing fair (code of conduct)
You agree not to:
- cheat, hack, or change the Game's code, data or network traffic, or use bots, scripts or tools that give you an unfair advantage or reveal hidden information;
- exploit bugs. If you find one, please report it to support@lordfall.com;
- trade wins, deliberately lose, or arrange results with other players (win-trading), farm rewards with extra accounts, or play on someone else's account;
- harass, threaten, insult or discriminate against other players, send spam or links to harmful sites, or use chat, names or emotes to do any of those;
- attack, overload, scrape or interfere with the Game's servers;
- use the Game for anything illegal.
We may warn you, limit features (for example turn off chat), reset progress or ranks, suspend or close your account if you break these rules. We'll use reasonable judgement and, where it's fair, explain why.
8. Content and ownership
- Lordfall, its name, logo, card designs, art, music, sound effects, text, rules and code belong to Cardboard Throne Games LLC or are used with permission. Lordfall™ is a trademark of Cardboard Throne Games LLC. Some sound effects and music loops are licensed from third parties; see the credits file that comes with the Game.
- This game was made using the assistance of AI.
- You may share screenshots and videos of your games (for example streams, videos and social posts), as long as you don't claim the Game as your own or use it to mislead people.
- Your display name and what you write in chat are yours, but you give us the right to store and show them inside the Game as needed to run it.
- If you send us ideas or feedback, including survey answers and bug reports, we can use them without owing you anything.
9. The Game is in development
- Lordfall is an early, in-development game. Features, cards, balance and rules will change, and things may break. We may reset or adjust ranks, seasons, leaderboards and event standings when we change the Game.
- We may change, pause or end the Game or any part of it at any time. We'll try to give notice of big changes (for example through the in-game Mailbox).
- The Game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that your progress will never be lost, though we work hard to keep it safe.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, in-game items or progress. Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the last 12 months or USD $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
11. Ending your account
- You can stop playing at any time. To delete your account and data, use Delete my account at the bottom of your Profile screen (you'll be asked to type DELETE), or email us at support@lordfall.com.
- Deleting your account forfeits any game in progress. It can't be undone: your collection, Gold, Diamonds, packs and progress are gone and can't be refunded or transferred, except where the law requires otherwise. See the Privacy Policy for what is deleted and what is kept.
- We may suspend or close accounts that break this agreement, or if we stop running the Game.
12. Privacy (summary; see the Privacy Policy for details)
- What we store: your email and password (the password is stored securely, and we never see it), your profile (name, emblem, colour, title, crest, favourite faction, achievements, card backs), your collection, Gold, Dust, Diamonds, packs and decks, your missions, daily login and Pledge progress, your friends list and chat messages, challenges, matches (including game states, recorded moves and replays), Draft, Sealed and Tournament entries, your rank and records, reports, survey answers, and Mailbox messages and claims. We also keep a simple usage log (screens opened, game results, crashes) with a random device identifier.
- Where: in our database hosted by Supabase (servers in the US East region). The website and Game files are hosted by Cloudflare.
- What other players see: your display name, emblem, colour, title, crest, favourite faction, rank and record, and anything you do in a game with them. Friends can also see when you are in a game they may watch, if you allow it.
- We don't sell your personal information. We don't show ads.
- We may send you in-game messages. We'll only send you marketing email if you agree to it.
- You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at support@lordfall.com.
13. Changes to this agreement
We may update this agreement. If the changes are important, we'll tell you in the Game (for example through the Mailbox) before they take effect. If you keep playing after that, you accept the new version.
14. Disputes and governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, USA. If you have a problem, please email us first at support@lordfall.com so we can try to sort it out informally.
